The Muslim Woman's Gown

Muslim women in traditional dress are always covered from head to toe with a gown while in public. This traditional Muslim woman's gown is called the "burka", or "burqua". There are actually at least two main types of burquas. The "full burka" (or "chador") is a garment covering the whole body, with a heavy veil covering the eyes as well. The other burka is a kind of veil to cover the head having a slit on the front for the eyes.
The Muslim woman's gown clearly shows the current low state of women within Muslim society. Under Taliban rule, as has always been the case in traditional Muslim cultures, women have had few if any rights. A woman showing too much skin could be, and often was, punished severely for such an "offense". Men were in control, and women were to be the obedient servants of Muslim men. The burka represented that absolute control of men over women in traditional Muslim society.
This lack of freedom for Muslim women contrasts strongly with the freedom enjoyed by Christian woman in societies having a "Christian memory" or Christian roots. Christian women have often enjoyed a high state of honor within Christianity. In fact, Jesus Christ Himself gave a high place of honor to women. As a result, in societies where Christianity has had a major influence, woman generally also enjoy a high level of rights and privileges. Such rights have often included the right to an education; the right to vote; the right of women to work outside of the home; the right for women to choose whether to marry or not to marry; and even whom to marry if they do in fact decide to get married.
Such rights, (although taken for granted by many people living in Christian-based societies), are often found to strikingly contrast with the lack of such rights within traditional Muslim societies -- where women are often treated more like "property" than like real people.
The burka is meant to restrict, to hide, to "control". In the spiritual realm, this is similar to the way that Satan often works. Satan wants to control you, to keep you as his "property", to control and enslave you under his bondage of sin. The lack of freedom illustrated by the traditional Muslim woman's gown illustrates this lack of freedom over sin, the flesh and Satan -- a lack of freedom experienced by so many Muslim women today.
Nevertheless, Jesus Christ can set a Muslim woman free from the bondage of sin. Jesus said:
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32)
Jesus also said:
"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)
Jesus is the only way that you can be forgiven by God for the many sins that you have committed. Jesus is also the only way to God. Mohammed cannot save you. Only Jesus can save you, because only Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus loves you.
Trust Jesus and He will save you and give you a new life on Earth and an Eternal Mansion in Heaven when you die. Trust Jesus and let Jesus set you free from the bondage of your sin. Trust Jesus today!
